CEA Welcomes a New Program Director
The Community Employment Alliance is pleased to welcome Courtney Williams as our new Program Director, effective February 1, 2020.
Courtney’s career in the non-profit sector began as a job developer for individuals with disabilities at Reliable Enterprises. Here she worked closely with the clients of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Department to educate both the community and employers on the hidden workforce and advocate for job seekers who potentially would have been overlooked otherwise.
Her career moved forward with workforce development by serving as a Supervisor for the Washington State Employment Security Department, managing Case Managers and Business Services. Through that experience, she became a subject matter expert in our region’s industry clusters: food production, forest and wood products, life sciences, chemical products and plastics manufacturing, IT and telecom, and hospitality and tourism. As a region, her team worked with employers to bring together government, education, training, community organizations, and labor to define common workforce needs and meet the demands of local industries.
Most recently she served as the Associate Director for a Non-Profit called Homes First. This organization works to ensure affordable housing is accessible to populations who would otherwise be rent burdened. She is proud to be part of that organization’s continued advocacy and work towards legislation reform for matters related to affordable housing.
In addition to her work history, Courtney obtained her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Evergreen State College.
Courtney’s vision for the Community Employment Alliance is to work with our stakeholders and help advance employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Please join us in welcoming Courtney as she gets underway with the Community Employment Alliance!
